Delicious Brazilian savory pastries with a unique guaraná-infused dough and flavorful chicken filling.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups flour of wheat
  • 0.5 cup cold butter
  • 1 whole egg
  • 0.25 cup guaraná (soda)
  • to taste salt

Filling

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 diced tomato without seeds
  • 0.5 cup green corn
  • 0.5 cup creamy requeijão
  • to taste herbs parsley and chives
  • to taste seasonings salt and black pepper
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing

Instructions 

  • Mix flour, butter, egg, guaraná, and salt to form a dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
  • Prepare filling: sauté onion and garlic in olive oil, add chicken, tomato, corn, requeijão, herbs, salt, and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Roll out dough, cut into circles, place filling, and seal edges. Brush with egg yolk.
  • Bake at 180°C (356°F) for 30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm with a side salad or as a snack.
