Delight in this creamy, cheesy Brazilian dish made with dried beef and cassava, perfectly cooked in the air fryer for a crispy top and tender interior.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 500 g de carne seca dessalgada, cozida e desfiada

Butter

  • 2 tbsp de manteiga

Onion

  • 0.5 cup de cebola picadinha

Garlic

  • 2 cloves de alho amassados

Tomato

  • 1 medium de tomate sem sementes, picado

Smoked Paprika

  • 0.5 tsp de páprica defumada (opcional)

Salt and Pepper

  • to taste Sal e pimenta-do-reino a gosto

Chives

  • 2 tbsp de cheiro-verde picado

Cassava

  • 500 g de mandioca cozida e amassada

Warm Milk

  • 0.5 cup de leite quente

Cream of Milk

  • 200 g de creme de leite

Mozzarella Cheese

  • 1 cup de queijo muçarela ralado

Parmesan Cheese

  • 2 tbsp de queijo parmesão ralado (opcional)

Instructions 

  • In a pan, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic in butter until fragrant.
  • Add the chopped tomato, season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika if using. Cook for 1 minute.
  • Mix in the shredded dried beef and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • In a bowl, combine the cooked cassava with warm milk, cream, chopped chives, and the sautéed beef mixture. Mix well.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (356°F). Place the dish inside and cook for 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce or chopped fresh herbs before serving.
