Enjoy this classic Brazilian cheese bread that's soft on the inside with a crispy crust, perfect for any snack or meal.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups polvilho azedo
  • 1 cup polvilho doce
  • 1.5 cups queijo meia cura ralado grosso (can mix with mozzarella or parmesan)
  • 3 units eggs
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 0.25 cup oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • as needed oil for greasing hands

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a pot, bring water and oil to a boil. Add the polvilho azedo and polvilho doce, stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly. Mix in the eggs one at a time. Add the grated cheese and salt, mixing well. Form small balls with greased hands and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder or herbs to the dough before baking.
