A warm, spiced Brazilian drink perfect for festive gatherings, combining cachaça, citrus peels, and aromatic spices.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cachaça (approximately 600 ml)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated (about 3 cm piece)
  • 1 piece orange peel (from 1 orange)
  • 1 piece lemon peel (from 1 lemon)
  • 2 sticks cinnamon (cinnamon sticks)
  • 5 cloves cloves
  • 1 small apple (sliced thin, optional)

Instructions 

  • Combine cachaça, water, sugar, ginger, citrus peels, cinnamon, and cloves in a large pot.
  • Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  • Simmer for about 15-20 minutes to infuse flavors.
  • Add sliced apple if using, and serve hot in cups or mugs.
